    Note: Players will register as individuals and ESE Hockey will host a Live Draft via Instagram on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 to select teams

2022 HIGH SCHOOL DRAFT LEAGUE - RULES


GAME FORMAT:

·       8-game-guarantee per team

·       One 3-minute warm-up

·       Three 15-minute stop time periods

·       No ties

o    If the score is tied at the end of the regulation time, a three-man sudden-death shoot-out will commence
 

PLAYING RULES:

·       Eligible players: Incoming high school freshman (’25) to current high school juniors (’23)

·       2021-2022 USA Hockey rules will be in effect

·       Non-Contact

o   The High School Draft League is a non-contact, non-body check league. For the purpose of this rule, an illegal body check is defined as when a player makes intentional physical contact with the opponent using overt hip, shoulder, forearm or torso action. This includes physically forcing the opponent off the puck and with no effort to legally play the puck.

·       Zero Tolerance Policy

o   ESE Hockey is committed to creating a safe and fair environment for all participants. Respect for the game, the opponents, staff, and officials are a critical part of the environment that is created. All players, staff, officials, and parents/spectators are required to maintain a sportsmanlike and educational atmosphere before, during and after all High School Draft League games.

·       No time-outs during Regular Season play

o   One 30-second time-out during Playoff and Championship play

 

POINT SYSTEM:

·       2 points for regulation win

·       1 point for a regulation tie

·       1 point for shootout win

·       0 points for regulation loss and shootout loss

 

STANDINGS AND PLAYOFF SEEDINGS (IN ORDER):

·       Most points

·       Head-to-head match-up

·       Goal differential (Total goals for minus total goals against) 

·       Most goals for

·       Coin toss

 

PHOTO/VIDEO/SOCIAL MEDIA CONSENT:

By allowing your participant to play in the High School Draft League, the parent/guardian officially acknowledges gives consent for photographs to be taken, consent for video to be recorded of all activities related to the High School Draft League. ESE Hockey has the right to use all media assets collected for publicity purposes: the ESE Hockey website, brochures + flyers, news releases, and social media posts and presentations to future prospective program participants. By signing the ESE Hockey consent form at registration, you shall understand that you will receive no compensation for such uses. ESE Hockey will retain the right to have any photographs discontinued from use in any or all of ESE Hockey venues upon request, and if, at any time, you wish photograph(s) to be discontinued from any of the above, it is your programs responsibility to contact ESE Hockey to make this request.

MISCELLANEOUS:

·       ESE Hockey will not be responsible for any injury to teams and/or team members and/or supporters.

·       ESE Hockey will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.

·       Locker rooms and all areas of the arena and property are to be left in spotless condition. Failure to abide by this can result in dismissal of the High School Draft League. If an individual sees an area in poor condition, please bring it to the attention of ESE Hockey promptly.

·       High School Draft League Players and ESE Hockey staff ONLY are allowed on the bench and in locker room areas. Parents are not permitted in the locker room area or on the team bench at any time.

·       A refund for the High School Draft League for any reason, is solely at the sole discretion of ESE Hockey. There is no refund guarantee for any circumstances.

BEST INTEREST OF THE HIGH SCHOOL DRAFT LEAGUE:

ESE Hockey reserves the right to add, amend or remove any ESE Hockey procedure, policy, rule or regulation, including, but not limited to, playing rules, eligibility rules, game format, to select or permit qualified individuals to participate in the High School Draft League or to align or change teams, in any particular skill level at any time, if it is deemed in the best interest of the High School Draft League. All decisions of ESE Hockey are final.
